The Escali Infrared Surface and Probe Thermometer is an extremely useful tool for the home or outdoor cook with its function of 2 thermometers in 1 device. In surface (infrared) mode, the DH8 is able to read surface temperatures and when in probe mode it can read internal temperatures. The IR mode is ideal for checking the surface temperature of grill grates, pizza stones, or the food you are cooking. The probe mode allows you to check the internal temperatures of foods to make sure they are at temperatures safe for consumption. Unlike other 2-in-1 devices, the DH8 is a handheld infrared thermometer with a built-in port that allows the included probe to be plugged into the unit and used like a grill probe thermometer. The unit also allows for additional functionality like hold, min/max temperatures, and audible alerts. The DH8 boasts a bright white backlit display with large numbers that are easy to read in all lighting conditions and viewing angles.
